بر اساس این گزارش ، شاخص مدیریت خرید در اقتصاد چین طی ماه می به کمتر از 48.7 واحد رسیده است . این رقم در ماه آوریل به 49.3 واحد رسیده بود . بر این اساس ، افت این شاخص به کمتر از 50 واحد نشانگر رکود  بخش صنعت چین است .
